Patrick (Paddy) – 24-4556

April 2024:

I am starting to really settle in to my foster home. My leg is getting much better but I am still following up at the vet to make sure everything is good. I have been given more freedom though and I love it!

I am a smart feller. They keep calling me Paddy Shenanigans or Velociraptor because I am always up to something and have been teething. I am getting better about only chewing on toys ( and not the people I love…did I mention that I love all people?). I am a master of routine. I learn quickly how things are supposed to be and I like repetition. For example, every morning after I potty, eat, and get a treat, I know it is lap-cuddle time. I am ready and waiting. I might even try to get into the chair before my foster pops sits down with his coffee.

The potty training is going pretty well but I still pee in the house sometimes. I have started to go to the door when I have to go out but I haven’t figured out how to clue these people in and I need a fast turnaround time! You could say that I am single-minded. When I set my mind to something I am sticking to it.

I am a lover and a cuddler. I do like to show dominance, especially to female dogs…but I am hearing my neuter ( whatever that is) may help with that. I am a grunter and a talker. You won’t be lonely with me around. 🙂

March 2024:

Hello everyone! Patrick here…but everyone calls me Paddy. I was a stray and ended up in the shelter right around St Patrick’s Day.  That ended up being a really good thing for me because I started getting good food regularly, and one of my legs wasn’t working right and I am getting help with that. They thought it was broken at first but it turns out that my joint is infected and I am taking medicine and resting to get it better.

Let me tell you…resting it is no fun. It is a good thing I have lots of toys because I am not supposed to run or jump. I think I have three more weeks left of this stuff and I am trying to be patient but it is hard. I mean, I am a puppy. Running, jumping, eating, and chewing are what I do!!! So that leaves me with eating and chewing…and CUDDLING which is one of the things I do best. I am trying to be a good boy but I am working on everything: potty training, coming when called, learning commands. Really – what did you expect – that I would know everything? I am a smart and sweet boy so I know it will come in due time. I am looking forward to meeting my forever family. I know there is a special person/people out there for me! I am getting ready for you!!!
