8/27 Update from foster mom: Matty was neutered last week and is now ready for his forever family to find him. We are working on his manners and leash walking. He is very much food-motivated. He will need to be fed separately from other pets due to some food guarding. Hopefully, this will improve as he realizes that there will ALWAYS be another meal. He is a loving boy. In a perfect world, he would have a fenced yard to run in and another doggo to play with. He does well with 2 of my female dogs. Danica and he have to be watched because of Danica’s territorial issues. He has not pooped in the house but has peed a few times. That is becoming less and less. Anyway, he will make a great addition to the right family who accepts that he is a work in progress. I give him a 4.3 out of 5.
Please welcome Mathias (Matty) to the rescue! Here’s an 8/16 update from his foster: Matty has been in the house for a few days now. This 4.5 year old is a 55lb all-around good “boi.” He is scheduled for his neuter at the end of next week and then will be ready for his forever family. I do keep a belly band on him inside. I’m sure it’s a marking thing but we are working on stopping that plus having the neuter surgery should help. He gets along fine with my pack. I would as always recommend feeding him separately from other dogs. These shelter dogs seem to have food insecurity. He crates well, loves to get belly scratches and any one-on-one loving. He will need some work on manners. He’s inquisitive.
