March 2 – Snoop’s first night in his foster home is in the books! His foster mom said he did bark in his crate, so she played some piano music for him, and it seemed to help. He is food-motivated, friendly, and seems to be a good boy. She will be working with him to learn commands, and that counter surfing is not a good thing.
Background:
Snoop and Martha were rescued from a disgusting situation by a kind neighbor who took them to the shelter. Like all the shelters in the last year, the shelter was already overcrowded and surrendered dogs can be euthanized within 24 hours. It is a good shelter and they try their best to avoid that.
We were asked to help. While we were full, we couldn’t say no. These two are only friendly with one another, so will need to be in a home as an only dog. They had been in boarding for quite some time, but they are now each in separate foster homes. Their medical needs have been addressed. We understand that the chance of getting them adopted together is slim, so we are hoping to place them as single dogs, which would be much better than having them remain in boarding. They are beautiful purebred boxers, and in a home with no other dogs, they will make great companions. Please look at them, and open your heart and home to one of them.
