I am Becky Cooke, President and Co-Founder of Blue Ridge Boxer Rescue, Inc. I have always been a lover of all animals, especially dogs. Growing up, I was the one known to bring home all of the stray and injured animals. I gave my heart to my first boxer 25 years ago. I knew immediately that my life would never be the same. I have been involved in competing my boxers in Obedience and Agility and they have earned titles in several competitions and acquired Companion Dog through AKC and Canine Good Citizen certifications.
I found my way into rescue after the passing of my first boxer, Natasha to Boxer Cardiomyopathy. After seeing the heartbreaking need of so many homeless boxers in my area, Blue Ridge Boxer Rescue was started in 2003. I have opened and shared my home with countless sick, injured, starved, abused and neglected dogs since becoming involved with rescue nearly 16 years ago. These precious dogs are truly my passion. I cannot imagine my life without being involved in helping save them and will always have my home blessed by the presence and joy of Boxers.
