I have been a Boxer lover since I was 13 years old and my older sister adopted a male Boxer named Bruiser. I vowed that when I was older and could have my own dog that it would be a Boxer. I have now owned five Boxers over the past 20+ years and have fostered over 20. After purchasing my first Boxer, I discovered rescue and have rescued ever since and always will. I found my way to BRBR as an adopter back in January 2009 and then started attending BRBR events in my area. After considering fostering for several years and always not doing it because I didn’t think I would be able to give the dog up, in July of 2013, I found a Boxer wandering around near my home with no identification. I contacted BRBR to see if he could be brought into the rescue and put up for adoption. BRBR said yes and I’ve been fostering ever since. Fostering has been such a rewarding experience and I have only foster failed once. I have made my way through various “jobs” in the rescue and have now landed in one of the director positions. I am so grateful for everything BRBR does to save the lives of so many wonderful dogs and for the friendships I have made with other crazy Boxer lovers.
