I am Annelaine Miller, and handle the social media posts on Facebook and Instagram and I am a foster home. I got my first boxer about 23 years ago and fell head over heels with the breed. Shortly after I lost Diesel, I knew I wanted another boxer, and I put in an application to adopt with BRBR. I adopted my Karlee, and after several years decided since my children were getting older and heading to college, I needed something to devote my time and energy to.
I became a volunteer with the rescue in 2013. Since then, I have fostered over 120 boxers. I have fostered everything from hospice dogs, medical case dogs, blind dogs, deaf dogs, new momma dogs, to litters of puppies. I have “foster failed” three times over the years, and eventually, I’m sure I will again! My very first foster (and foster fail) was Abbott, 10 years later, he is a champ at welcoming new foster dogs.
One of my favorite memories is of a puppy named David. He was diagnosed with failure to thrive, a 2 out of 5 score to survive. He was sent home with me, and with lots of devotion, time, love, and several vet trips later, I am proud to say he got stronger every day and is now a very healthy happy boy living his best life with the wonderful family that adopted him. I have made so many great friends over the years, that if not for this rescue, I never would have met. I am so thankful for that.
