Sampson

Hi everyone! My name is Sampson, but you can call me Sammy or Sam. I’ve been in my foster home almost two months now and I’ve been settling in nicely. I did have to have a minor surgery to have one of my dew claws removed. It took a while to heal and I had to wear a cone for what felt like forever! Foster mom says I was a good boy and adjusted to the cone very well. But now I’m all healed and foster mom says I’m ready to find my forever family.
I’m a handsome, young, energetic boxer boy. I love to go for walks (foster mom took me and my foster siblings twice a day until recently, it’s been too hot lately to take our evening walk though), play with toys (balls are my favorite, but I like all toys), and when I can convince her to play, I also love to play with my foster sister. Mom says both of my foster sisters are a lot older than me, so they can’t play the way I do.
I have done well with both foster sisters, but I can be a bit stingy with toys and food. I’ve given both of my foster sisters corrections when I thought they were going after my stuff. Neither of them cared and just walked away, but foster mom says if I do that with another dog, that dog may not like it and try to fight me. Because of that, foster mom says I should probably be an only dog. She says that makes her sad because I am so playful, but she says maybe my new family might have a neighbor dog or something that I can play with on occasion without any toys or food being present. Foster mom says she will make sure I find the best home and they will give me all the love, attention, and play time that I need.
I didn’t get a lot of time outside of my previous home, so new sounds and experiences can scare me, but as long as you act like nothing is wrong, I calm down. I don’t love being in a crate, but I do ok in one. I would do best with someone that is home most of the time though, so that I don’t have to be in a crate or left alone much. Foster mom and dad have been letting me free roam the house the few times they’ve both been gone (foster mom works from home, so I haven’t been home without someone much) and I’ve done well.
