I have had quite the journey since being rescued this summer! No sooner than I recovered from heart worm treatment, just after Labor Day I had orthopedic surgery to repair a luxating patella, landing me ANOTHER month of strict crate rest. It has been a long road but I am ready for my forever home!
I have lots of energy, and very playful, and LOVE my walks and car rides. I am an excellent car rider, preferring to curl into a ball and snooze on the seat.
Though I do not care to get in the water, I have thoroughly enjoyed boat rides with my foster family.
I am very intelligent and a fast learner. While I am still working on my leash manners (and who can blame me, I’ve been on crate rest most of the summer), I have mastered Sit, Stay, Lay Down and Come.
I am very loving and affectionate, taking every opportunity for love and attention from my humans. I get along well with my fur foster sister, but I do become jealous when she is getting love and I am not. I am not aggressive towards her, but I do run in and push her out of the way so as to be the center of attention.
My foster family says I will thrive in an active family where I have opportunities for lots of outdoor activity and a fenced in yard. They also feel I will do better in a family where I am not competing for attention from other dogs.
