Enzo checking in! Boy have I been busy since my last update! My foster family says I am pretty special and just about perfect, but when I first got here I had two big fears that I had to overcome. I was afraid of going upstairs and of getting in the car. But, with some encouragement from my foster family, I have now overcome both of those fears. Everyone is so proud of me!
Just as I got comfortable with stairs, lots of walks, zoomies in the backyard and wrestling with my foster siblings, I had to have surgery to fix my leg. My foster family noticed that I had a slight limp, so the great folks at BRBR had all of my legs thoroughly examined and x-rayed by one of their vets. Turns out in my pre-BRBR days I tore the ACL and meniscus in my right knee. So, climbing the stairs, jumping into the car for a ride, and snuggling on the furniture with my foster family are on hold for now, as I’ll be spending the next couple of months taking it easy while my leg heals. Lots of crate time, bones and peanut butter Kongs (can you say YUM??!!) are in my future. I’m such a happy and playful guy that it will be hard for me to stay cooped up for so long, but I know it will be worth it in the long run. The minute the doctor gives me the clearance to be active again, I can’t wait to run in the yard with my foster siblings until my very own family comes along!
If you are looking for a sweet, happy and playful boxer mix to add to your family, ask your adoption coordinator about me. I’ll be through this recovery period before you know it, and then I’ll be ready for a forever family of my very own…one I promise to love dearly for all of my days!
