Vicky AKA Scout —

Scout is a very sweet, skinny girl who is quickly learning to love living inside a home with a family. New things like stairs to climb, mirrors to walk past, and especially those TELEVISIONS can be a little scary at first. She is cautious with new things and likes to observe them from a distance (after running to foster mom for cover) while deciding if they are okay with her. This doesn’t take long at all and once she has made her decision she is full-steam ahead! Scout is a very smart girl and is working very hard on her manners. At home she will consistently “sit”, “kennel”, and the one that really helps at mealtime- “wait.” Scout is ALWAYS ready for a snack and extremely food motivated. So motivated that it helps to have her “wait” before you put her food down. Until you ask her “wait” she will be happy to entertain you with her dinnertime happy dance. She is doing a great job and with her appetite she should have no problem putting on a few pounds. Scout’s second favorite thing is her people. (Because FOOD!) She spends her time going from person to person to soak up every bit of love she can get. She has the sweetest way of burying her face in your arm while you are petting her which even works on foster dad. Nothing would make her happier than crawling up in your lap and she likes to try to do just that. She is a sneaky little love bug and will worm her way right in one leg at a time. She is learning what “no” and “off” mean so that she can give folks a little bit of breathing room when they need it. Or when their arm is going to sleep. Scout is excited to go outside to potty and even more excited to come right back in when she is done! She enjoys her time outside with her people but has decided that this “air conditioning” stuff and all these comfy beds are a pretty good thing. She has not had an accident since arriving at her foster home. This sweet girl may be skinny, but she is strong! We will be working on Scout’s leash manners so that trips outside of the backyard will be a little more fun for the person on the other end of the leash. Right now it is alot of dragging foster mom around while she tries not to wind up with a bunch of grass stains. There are just so many things to see & sniff! Scout was a little puzzled by toys in the beginning but she has decided that they are pretty great. Her favorite is one that occasionally may have treats tucked inside so she always plays with that one first. You know, just to check. All in all she is a silly, sweet, smart boxer girl who loves food, family, and a nice comfy bed to fall asleep in.
