Flash 2017

Flash is a gorgeous 6 year old male boxer who was surrendered to us and is living in VA with his foster family. Flash loves walks and runs and does a great job on the leash. He is housebroken and crate trained and adores his crate time. Flash would need to be an only pet home and with children 10 or older. Flash loves his human connection time but will require an experienced owner with previous training experience in bully breeds such as boxers. Flash is very stubborn (I swear he didn’t get it from his foster mom!) and he needs a strong leader to help him understand that he is not the one in charge. He follows voice commands and will perform them easily. He is food motivated and would perform just about anything for food. He is not fond of cats and he will require special attention when visiting the vet as he gets extremely anxious and tries to nip at them. As I said, Flash is an extremely awesome dog who is looking for that perfect adopter to come along and show him the way through the rest of his life and he in turn will be a fantastic companion for that right person. Flash loves to play ball eat bones and ride in the car too……please consider Flash if you think you may be his perfect match!

  • Must be in a home that has the following: A strong and knowledgeable adopter who is experienced with stubborn dogs and has previous training experience with boxers or a similar bully breed. It is not recommended Flash go to a home with other pets. He has successfully integrated into his foster homes pack of three other dogs however there was 6 months of complete separation and very slow intros. Flash has shown agression towards other dogs at times in the past and the cause stemmed around smaller dog and food. Though no real attach or injury was caused this is something to note.   He does enjoy snuggling with his human and giving the occasional kiss!
  • Is a fence necessary or is leashed exercise sufficient?: leashed walk would be ok
